Course Aims and Objectives

The purpose of this course is to give delegates an understanding in the knowledge of the key legislation in relation to the control of Legionella and how to identify and manage the risk of Legionella disease.

By the end of the course delegates will:

  • Have a better understand of what Legionella is
  • Be able to explain how it can cause harm to humans
  • Have a better understanding of their legal responsibilities in detecting and dealing/managing the problem
  • Have a detailed understanding of their statute and common duty of care requirements with regards to the detection and management of Legionella in a workplace
  • Have more confidence in how to test a water system
