Life-savers in the making at Stoke High School

July saw the first ‘Life-Skills’ week at a local high school in Ipswich. Students from year 8 and 9 at Stoke High School – Ormiston Academy, moved away from typical curriculum for two days and attended a number of different activities from first aid awareness to self-defence and problem solving.

Our Allstar Training Tutors went on site to the school and were really impressed with the students’ interest and willingness to learn basic life-saving skills.

From 2020 onwards, all state-funded schools in England will be required to teach first aid as part of health education. This will include basic first aid for primary school children, for example dealing with common injuries, such as head injuries. Young people in secondary schools will be taught further first aid. For example, how to administer CPR and the purpose of defibrillators.

Each student received a certificate which they can be very proud to show off.

Contact Allstar Training for more information on our accredited or awareness first aid courses.

If you are interested in self-defence, MAMBA Martial Arts is based in Ipswich and offer classes and training in Boxing, Kick-boxing, Ju-Jitsu and Karate.
